Tauranga, New Zealand

Full-time or Part-time | Tauranga | Hybrid working

The start of a new year often gets talked about as a "fresh start". At Pinnacles Civil, it's less about grand promises and more about doing meaningful work with good people, in a business that backs you to grow.

We're looking for a Finance & Business Support professional to join our Tauranga-based team. This is not a narrow finance role. It's a hands-on, varied position at the centre of the business, supporting finance while also being involved in Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and HR. If you're someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, working across the detail and the bigger picture, and being part of a team that genuinely looks out for one another, this could be the step you've been looking for.

This role will suit someone who wants to continue building their finance career within a stable, growing civil engineering consultancy. You'll be trusted with responsibility, supported by experienced leaders, and given exposure well beyond traditional finance tasks. Pinnacles Civil is currently working through ISO 45001, so if you've had exposure to ISO systems, that's great. If not, you'll be supported to learn. What matters most is your mindset.

You'll take ownership of core finance processes including receivables, payables, reconciliations, reporting and GST, while also supporting quality systems, health and safety compliance, and general business operations. You'll work closely with Directors, Branch Managers, Project Managers and the wider support team, helping ensure the business runs smoothly and information is accurate, timely and trusted.

Culturally, this is a business that lives its values. "Get it done" means practical solutions, not over-engineering. "Real people" means family comes first, honest conversations are encouraged, and no one is above mucking in. "Own it" means you're trusted to make decisions, learn as you go, and take pride in your work. You'll be joining a team that is down to earth, supportive, and serious about doing good work without losing sight of life outside it.

The role offers flexibility, with hybrid working options available. Ideally, you'll work across five days and be mainly based in Tauranga, with travel to the Hamilton and Waihi offices for one to two days each month to stay connected with the wider team.

You don't need to tick every box to be successful here. If you bring solid finance experience, a solutions-focused approach, and a willingness to get involved across the business, you'll be supported to grow into the role and beyond.

In return, Pinnacles Civil offers a flexible working environment, five weeks' annual leave, health insurance, genuine development opportunities, and a culture built on trust, accountability and good people doing good work.

If the idea of starting the year in a role where your contribution is valued, your growth is supported, and your work actually makes a difference sounds appealing, we'd love to hear from you.
